The deputy minister of culture and Islamic guidance for cinematic affairs, Mohammadreza Jafari Jelveh, Martyr Avini’s widow Maryam Amini, and several cinematic figures, including Ezzatollah Entezami, Jamal Shurjeh, Mohammadreza Sharafeddin, Habibollah Kasehsaz, Javad Tusi, and Naser Shafaq, attended the unveiling ceremony.
In a speech at the ceremony, Jafari Jelveh said that Avini was in love with the national cinema, whose golden section is Sacred Defense cinema.
“The basijis were like the heroes of their time during the eight-year Sacred Defense (1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war),” he added.
The museum curator stated that Avini’s main concern was narrating the story of the bravery of those who fought on the warfront and those who sacrificed their lives for the liberty of their homeland.
A meeting was also held in which the cinematic figures expressed their views on the Sacred Defense.
The Film Museum of Iran is located on Vali-e Asr Ave., south of Tajrish Square, in the Bagh-e Ferdows neighborhood.
